Political commentator Amit Segal announced today that his book The Story of Israeli Politics has been translated into Arabic. It is the first Hebrew book to be translated into Arabic by an official publisher since the Abraham Accords.
In a Twitter tweet written in Arabic, Segal wrote: I am happy to tell you that, after months of hard work, The Story of Israeli Politics is being published in Arabic. The United Arab Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research has translated the book and it is now available for purchase throughout the Arab world and also here in Israel .
The book talks about the successes and failures of Israel’s leaders from Ben Gurion to Netanyahu, up to the middle of 2021 when Naftali Bennett was sworn in as Prime Minister. If the tone of the book is like his website, then it should be entertaining as well as informative. Segal writes: “We are the world champions in politics, with the most elections per capita. During the Coronavirus [pandemic], we went to school more times to vote [in the polling stations there] than to drop off the children. But to this day, there is no Hebrew word for politics.”
